Ryan and Nicole’s Letter

Dear Birth Mother,

Please know how much we admire you and the incredible love you have for your baby. We love, respect, and support you and your decision to consider adoption. We are sure this is a difficult process and we want you to know that we have been and will continue to pray for you during this time.

We are Ryan and Nicole. We met 15 years ago in 2008 while out celebrating our respective birthdays, which are three days apart. We fell in love and married in 2013. We live in Houston in a gated community in a 3-story home with our adopted daughter Eloise, who is almost 4, and our cat Hazel. We have a lot of laughter in our home and together we love to travel, go to concerts and music festivals, discover new food, and spend time with our friends and large families. We are always up for a new adventure and truly feel we are not only partners in life but best friends.

Ryan was born and raised in Houston and attended college there as well. He was a high school mathematics teacher and assistant golf coach from 2013 to 2022 at the same high school where he graduated. Ryan has since taken a job with a midstream oil & gas company as a sales operations analyst. He often volunteers on our church’s worship team playing the guitar and singing. He loves to play golf, hunt and fish, and does most of the cooking at home. People would say that Ryan is kind, funny, loyal, and enjoys being around people.

Nicole was born and raised in Louisiana, mostly in New Orleans. She settled in Houston in 2007 to pursue her Master’s degree. She is a speech-language pathologist at a large hospital and has experience working with infants, children, and adults. She truly enjoys helping others and helping them to improve their quality of life. Nicole loves baking, reading, listening to music, watching independent films, planning vacations, and spending time with family and friends. People would say that Nicole is compassionate, empathetic, thoughtful, kind, and has a good sense of humor.

We started praying for a child once we were married. We had a three-year journey of unexplained infertility that included three rounds of in-vitro fertilization with all attempts unsuccessful. We knew God’s plan for our lives was to be parents and to raise our children in a loving Christian home. God put adoption on our hearts and in 2019 we brought home our daughter Eloise through the beautiful process of adoption. It truly was the most humbling and love- filled experience. We were thankful to spend some time with her birth mother in the hospital and are still amazed at her strength. We still have a relationship with her birth mother and communicate with her often. It has been a joy to raise Eloise and we never forget the amazing selfless sacrifice of her birth mother. Eloise is a bright, funny, empathetic, and kind daughter. She has been talking for quite some time that she would love a sibling.

We are so thankful that God has given us a call to grow our family through adoption and has placed that desire on our hearts again. We plan to continue to raise our children in a home that loves Jesus and learns about how God speaks to us through His word, the Bible. Our household is full of laughter, traveling, trying new things, playing outdoors, and always learning. We want a child to grow up with our extremely large extended families (this baby would be the second grandchild for both Ryan and Nicole’s parents) and with a wonderful blend of both Texan and Cajun culture. We are so hopeful for what God has in store for all of us during this adoption journey again.

With Our Sincerest Gratitude,
Ryan and Nicole
