Cody and Hannah’s Letter

Dear Birth Mother,

Thank you so much for reading about us. You are so incredibly brave, and we are beyond proud of you for taking this step for your child. We are honored that you have chosen to read our letter and we hope that this answers some of your questions.

We would like to formally introduce ourselves; I am Hannah. I was raised in a loving two parent home. My parents did everything they could to make sure I knew I was loved and that I had all I needed and more. I married the love of my life, Cody in 2017. I graduated from high school in May of 2017 so you can see I wasted no time getting married! Cody and I have been together 2012, so we had plenty of time to get to know one another. My name is Cody. I grew up in a broken home as a child but luckily my grandmother adopted me when I was nine. She and her husband cared for me up until I graduated in 2016. I went on to college and became an LVN before marrying Hannah.

After we married, we continued our education before landing in a small town to call our home. We each work; Hannah is a Teller at a bank and Cody is a pediatric nurse in a hospital. In our free time we enjoy fishing, camping, taking out the boat, watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with our pets.

We have a kitty, Logan, who is seven years old and truly the sweetest kitty ever. He was adopted from an animal shelter when he was young, and he loves to play with toys and lay in the sun on our enclosed patio. Ranger is our Australian Shepherd he is such a loving dog and adores kids, he plays fetch and knows lots of tricks. He is the perfect family dog. Mika is our German Shepherd. She is still young and full of energy, so she spends most of her time chasing Ranger and playing fetch.

Our family dream started after our friends had their babies and we saw the love and happiness they shared. We tried on our own to have children for a while but were diagnosed with infertility. We tried lots of treatments and options but ultimately, we knew that adoption is what the lord has planned for us. While we tried to do it our way, God ultimately showed us that this is HIS way, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his guidance.

What we want most in the world is to raise a child together, a child to love and care for, someone that we would do anything for. They will be raised in faith by two parents who deeply love each other but who also love the lord first and above all else. Hannah was raised in a church where her father was the pastor and wants nothing but this for her child. Being brought up in the church and following the lord is the most important thing we can teach our children.

Thank you so much for reading our letter, thank you for making the hardest decision you will ever make so that you can give your child the best life possible. You are incredibly strong, and I pray that the lord carries you in this difficult time. We have prayed for you since the day we decided to adopt through Christian Homes, we have prayed for you to have strength and comfort while you go through this.

“The lord is my strength and my shield: my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” Psalm 28:7

Thank you,
Cody and Hannah
