Donovan and Valerie’s Letter

Hi, we are Donovan and Valerie! Before you read this, we want you to know that we admire your strength and bravery. This is not an easy choice, and in a world of so many options, it takes a lot of courage to make this decision.

A little bit about us! We met at Bible college, fell in love, and came to CT to get married in 2020. Donovan is originally from Minnesota, and Valerie is from New York. We currently live in Connecticut in a sweet neighborhood at the end of a cul-de-sac, within walking distance of a small playground. We only live 15 minutes from Val’s parents’ house, so grandma and grandpa will be very involved and are looking forward to meeting their new grandchild. We make frequent trips to Minnesota to visit Donovan’s family, so your baby will grow up with great memories traveling to see their dad’s family! Val’s brother and sister-in-law have a newborn baby girl, named Alice, and she is so excited to have a cousin to play with! We’re blessed to live near our extended family, so your baby will always have cousins to grow up and make memories with.

We love to travel and host families that come to visit us. We cherish our family vacations, usually traveling somewhere new together each time, though we did do Disney a few years in a row because we are both kids at heart! Some things we enjoy include exercising, playing pickleball, and hosting game nights at our house. We also love hosting a young adult Bible study and spending quality time with our little cousins who fill our home with laughter. We enjoy cozy evenings too, campfires in the backyard, relaxing movie nights, and our famous Monopoly battles (where Val is usually the reigning champion!).

We want to give our child a life full of adventure, family, and fun! More than anything, our greatest desire is to share the love of God and raise a little one in the knowledge of the Lord. This new chapter is one we’ve been praying for and looking forward to. You and your baby are already deeply loved. The gift of choosing adoption is beyond words, and if you choose us, it would be the greatest honor of our lives. Please know we are covering you in prayer, asking for your protection, for peace in your heart, and for confidence in whatever decision you make, even if it’s not with our family.
