Volunteer Opportunities
As a volunteer, you can change lives and build Christian families by helping Christian Homes & Family Services pursue the ministry’s vision of a Christian home for every child.
VOLUNTEER WITH BIRTH MOTHERS
- Drive young women to and from appointments
- Lead a Bible study
- Teach cooking lessons
- Organize parties or fun outings to the zoo, a museum or a picnic in the park
- Help with GED prep
- Teach a young woman to grocery shop on a budget
- Provide haircuts, manicures or pedicures
- Write encouraging notes
- Teach basic money management
- Organize and lead arts and crafts night
- Teach health and fitness classes
VOLUNTEER WITH FOSTER CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
- Provide babysitting or short-term substitute care
- Provide a home-cooked meal when a new foster family gets a child
- Solicit contributions for Miriam’s Room
- Diapers and wipes
- New clothing for newborns to 5T
- New toys (Ages 0-5)
- Gift Cards
- Organize donations made to Miriam’s Room
- Write encouraging notes
VOLUNTEER FOR SPECIAL EVENTS
- Distribute and hang posters
- Address invitations
- Decorate for events
- Usher
- Solicit contributions
VOLUNTEER AT THE OFFICE
- Light office work – make copies and file paperwork
- Count change for Change for Children
- Fold and stuff mailings
VOLUNTEER FROM HOME
- Pray for those God entrusts to our care
- Make blankets for newly adopted and newly placed foster children
- Write encouraging notes to birth mothers, foster families and adoptive families
- Bake treats for birth mothers
