Ellah McNiell

Foster Care Outreach | West Texas

Currently a student at Abilene Christian University getting her bachelor’s in Child and Family Services with a minor in communication, Ellah McNiell serves as the Foster Care Outreach worker.

Born and raised in Abilene, she and her family participated in Safe Families from 2017-2023 where they provided support for parents whose kids were removed from their house as they worked on getting their services done. Later, their family opened their home for two boys to help their mom with school pick up and drop off and then eventually with a safe place for the boys to stay while the mother got back on her feet. This experience shaped who Ellah is today and lead her to the path she is on now. Ellah saw how powerful a little support and help for struggling parents, and their kids can be, and she has never questioned that this is the career she wants to be in!

During her free time, Ellah loves to hang out with friends and volunteer with kids in Abilene of low socioeconomic status to both show love and to be a mentor in their faith.

Prior to her current position, Ellah interned at Christian Homes during the summer of 2025 and worked with the foster families and loved it. Her favorite part was getting to talk with the foster kids and get to know each of their personalities.
