Jonathan and Stephaney

Hello! We are Jonathan and Stephaney Broadbent, and we’ve been happily married for seven years. We are an active family who loves to work out, and our home is filled with the joy of our two kiddos, our daughter Remington (almost five) and our son JD (three). Stephaney is a stay-at-home mom, and Jonathan is a VP of Engineering for Scale AI’s public sector. Our desire to adopt a baby is deeply rooted in our experience: both of us grew up as the second-born in families of four siblings, and with adoption being a cherished part of our extended family’s story, we feel uniquely ready and eager to expand. Our motivation stems from a profound love of being parents and a desire to fill our home with more love, learning, snuggles, and the inevitable chaos of a growing family. This decision is also driven by a powerful empathy; having found immense fulfillment in creating our own safe haven, we are ready, willing, and eager to open our hearts and home to provide a stable, loving, and permanent sanctuary for a child who deserves unconditional love and acceptance.

Hello! We are Jonathan and Stephaney Broadbent, and after seven wonderful years of marriage, we are eagerly preparing to expand our family. Stephaney is a stay-at-home mom, and Jonathan is a VP of Engineering for Scale AI’s public sector. Our desire to adopt a baby is deeply rooted in our backgrounds: both of us grew up as the second-born in families of four siblings, and with adoption being a cherished part of our extended family’s story, we feel uniquely ready for this journey. We are an active family who loves to work out, spend time outside in the woods near our home, and travel to see family. Our home is currently filled with the wonderfully contrasting energy of our two kiddos. Our daughter, Remington (almost five), is a wonderfully complex girl: deeply empathic, loving, and soft, yet she is currently learning to be aggressive in soccer and constantly begs to start Jiu-Jitsu. She is hilariously clumsy—constantly falling and knocking others down—but is quick to give up scoring a goal to offer a helping hand to a fallen friend. Remington loves to wrestle and play in the dirt and rain, often while wearing a princess dress and 1-inch bedazzled pink high heels. Her long, wavy blonde hair is always wild, just like her personality! Our son, JD (three), is a charming “treenager” boy. If he can throw it, take it apart, jump off it, or use it as a gun, he will. He is a little explorer who loves to wander off into the unknown but is also wonderfully sensitive and prioritizes his snuggles with Mom above all else. Our motivation stems from a profound love of being parents and a desire to fill our home with even more love, learning, and joyous chaos. This journey is deeply personal: having found immense fulfillment in creating our secure haven, we are ready, willing, and eager to open our hearts and home to provide a stable, loving, and permanent sanctuary for a child who deserves unconditional acceptance.

Jonathan and Stephaney’s Letter

Dear Mom,

As parents of two, our hearts are heavy with you as you make this difficult decision. But also as parents, we admire your strength, sacrifice, and overwhelming love you clearly have for your child in making this decision. We have been praying for you every day since we started our adoption journey and are so humbled and in awe of your strength.

We are Jonathan (Jon) and Stephaney (Steph). We have been married for 7 years and have two kids a 5 year old and a 3 year old. We are both prior military, Jon served for 8 years in the Army and Stephaney served for 6 years in the Air Force. Now Jonathan works as a VP of engineering, aka he builds computers and implements AI solutions. Stephaney is a stay-at-home-mom and I love every second of it. All the “cool” things we got to do in the military doesn’t even compare to how much we love being parents. Our kids are very excited for their new sibling, Remington is always talking about all the things she is going to show and teach her new baby and JD is excited to have “more friends to play Army” with.

Our family is very close. We love this so much because it’s so cool for our kids to have very close relationships with their grandparents. Aunts, uncles, and cousins. We often travel as family to either visit family or all meet up in one place to adventure as one large extended family. We are both the second born of four in our families and always loved the idea of a big family and big family gatherings. Due to medical complications during our last pregnancy, we will not be having any more biological children. We have always talked about adoption but wanted to take serious time, prayer, and wisdom from our community to ultimately make our decision to be here today.

As adoptees into God’s family, the story of adoption is difficult, heavy, and hard but with Christ it can be a beautiful story of his redeeming love, and we’ve seen that lived out in our church community and friends. At our church adoption is active and normal in many families – we have many examples of interracial, international, and foster care to link arms with us as we walk our story of adoption.

Looking back at both our testimonies, our dating & marriage stories, the births of our own children we truly believe God is sovereign. His will, timing, and love is where we rest as we await the newest member of our family. We are praying for your strength, love, humility, protection, and bravery as you make this difficult decision. And ultimately, we are praying that you know and feel the love that God has for you and find strength in whatever has brought you to this decision. He gave up his son, Jesus for you, he wants to have a relationship with you.

Because of the cross,
Jon & Steph
