Nathan and Courtney’s Letter

Dear Birth Mother,

Michael Oher said it best when he said, “You are a unique person created for a specific purpose. Your gifts matter. Your story matters. Your dreams matter. You matter.” We cannot begin to comprehend the depth of your feelings and/or challenges right now, but we would love to be able to be a part of you and your baby’s journey. We are so proud of your decision to choose life for your baby and would love to continue to shower your child with the unconditional love you have already shown them.

Our house is currently full of love and boys! We have been married since 2013 and have welcomed 2 little boys along the way. We work hard and play hard. Since we met while getting our Master’s in Information Security, we both work in similar IT industries. Nathan is the more technical one, with a job as a Firewall Architect. Courtney is more focused on people management, with a job as a Sr Manager over a team of engineers who dispatch to install technology into schools and libraries.

Two of our biggest common interests shape a lot of the adventures we go on as a family. Sports have always been a big part of both of our lives, and we both played many sports growing up. Courtney played soccer all the way through college, and Nathan still enjoys playing basketball and golf. Our oldest son has already tried soccer and both our boys are enjoying t-ball. We enjoy going to sporting events as a family. Nathan grew up in Kentucky and both boys came home from the hospital in University of Kentucky onesies and were taught from an early age to say, “Go Cats!” Another great love we have is traveling. Our travels can be anything from going to the zoo, to relaxing at the beach, or traveling to a city/state we have never been before. Nathan is an expert travel planner. So far, the boys have enjoyed seeing and experiencing new things in California, Colorado, and Arizona!

We have a great group of family and friends who are actively involved in our lives and our church family also provides amazing support for our entire family. We are fortunate to have a church family that is not only diverse in both age and race but is also growing and has many young families. We are all heavily involved in church activities, and Courtney enjoys teaching in the nursery class each week. It is so important to us that we always focus on the spiritual growth of our family and make God a part of our daily lives.

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and considering our family. We would be honored to meet you. To us, adoption is a miracle and a calling to grow our family. We want to use the blessings that God gave us to love and welcome another child into our lives. Since we started with a quote, it seems fitting to also end with one. “How do you spell ‘love’? – Piglet. You don’t spell it, you feel it. – Pooh.” We hope you feel loved and supported on this journey and know that whatever decision you make your baby will be loved unconditionally as well.

Thanks,
Nathan and Courtney
