Dear Birth Mother,
We admire and respect you for considering adoption and can only imagine all you are going through. We are praying for you as you go through this process of making such a selfless decision to choose life for your precious baby. You are so courageous! Like you, we are strongly committed to assuring that everything we do is in the best interest of the baby.
We are Michael and Jen. We have been married since 2009. We’ve changed a little and learned a lot. Life has thrown us some heavy curve balls. One of these hurdles has left us in a holding pattern. That struggle is the desire to be parents. We have had several miscarriages and failed rounds of fertility treatment. As a result, we learned that we will not be able to have a biological child. Knowing that our house is not a home without a child, we are excited to begin the journey toward the son or daughter who was chosen to be ours.
Michael grew up in a small town in northern California and grew up in the church. He has one brother who lives in Arizona. When Michael was 17 years-old, he joined the Marines and spent time in places such as Hawaii and Japan. Years later, he finally found his true calling in massage therapy. Michael has been a medical massage practitioner for the last 15 years. His passion for helping others feel better as well as his carefree personality are what keep his clients coming back to him.
Jen was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was fortunate to be raised by two very loving and supportive parents, though she was definitely a daddy’s girl. Jen attended church and also went to Catholic school. She graduated from San Diego State with a Master’s Degree in special education. She has been blessed to be working in education for 17 years now. Working with students and parents in this capacity brings her great joy and personal satisfaction. It is very rewarding for her to watch children, especially those who have been shut down and dismissed, see their own potential and grow both academically and emotionally.
Jen is very lucky that her profession has so much time off work; holidays, Spring Break and two months of summer. Michael too enjoys the flexibility he has from owning his own business. When Jen is not working, she loves spending time with her family. We are blessed to live within 5 miles of Jen’s mother, brother and his wife and children. Jen’s nieces are very spoiled thanks to Auntie Jen and Uncle Mikers. Michael loves taking our dog Tank to the park and for long walks. Together, Michael and Jen enjoy going to the movies game night with friends, cooking dinner, listening to live music, taking mini-vacations throughout Texas and watching football.
In making our house a home, we have much to offer. We are Christian and live by the notion that God and family come first. We are fortunate to have careers that allow for a reduced need for childcare. We plan to give our child the opportunity to build confidence and grow up with the love of our whole family. With family close by and Jen’s years of experience in working with children, we are able to offer a stable, loving and supportive environment for any child to call home.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little bit. We are excited about the prospect of being parents and would be so grateful for you to consider us to love and raise your child. Thankful could hardly express how we would feel for you to be a part of us finally becoming parents.
