Justin and Summer’s Letter

Dear Mama,

What an honor it is that you would even consider reading the words on this page. Thank you so much for your time and willingness to hear a little about our family and journey. We can only imagine how tough this process has been for you, and this being the middle of what is likely a very long and tough road. That you would choose life for your baby is so encouraging to us, and we believe that carrying this life honors our God. We also believe that no matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you are not outside the reach of God’s great love.

We are Justin and Summer. We have been married since July 2017, and have one biological son named Noah who was born November 2018, who Summer gets the privilege of staying home with. We believe that every good and perfect gift comes from God, and that each member of our family is a tangible expression of that truth, whether biological or not. We became friends in 2013, and it wasn’t until 2016 that we began dating heading towards marriage. Before we got married we knew we wanted to adopt at some point in our lives, but were unsure of timing until we lost two babies to miscarriage in 2020. De-spite the pain and sorrow of those losses, we knew exactly what our next step would be. It was time to grow our family in a different way, and our trust in God’s plan for our lives grew knowing He was in control.

As you may be able to tell, we are people of faith, but our lives have not always been this way. Sadly, we both caused ourselves and others much pain with the decisions we’d made in our lives before coming to faith. Jesus Christ radically changed Summer’s life in 2006, and Justin’s in 2012. Through coming to faith, we’ve seen God do wonderful things in us, and in the people around us. That said, everything that we have today we owe to Him, and we are excited for whatever He brings our way.

In addition to being people of faith, we are goofy and love having fun. We have always valued doing most everything together as a family, whether that is running errands, watching a football game, having fun outside, spending time with friends or just being silly at home. We desire a family that is close, and that our children would have close, lasting relationships with us and one another. Any other child God brings to our family would become a part of that just the same, and we believe this too is a gift. Our hope and prayer is that the impact of our lives will live on through them as they will be around even after we’re gone. That legacy will include you, too.

Psalm 34:18 says “The Lord draws near to the broken hearted, and He saves the crushed in Spirit”.

We believe this to be true, because we have seen it in our own lives, and believe it is true for you as well. We pray that you’d find comfort and rest in Him, and are praying for your health and this life you now hold. We can’t wait to meet you!

Sincerely,
Justin & Summer
