Joshua and Amelia’s Letter

Dear Birth Mother,

We are truly honored that you have taken the time to get to know us. The strength and willpower that you display in going through this process is absolutely inspiring. The sacrifices that you are making for your child are an incredible act of love. We will be praying for your continued strength and comfort through this process. We hope that this letter will give you the information you need to make your decision.

We are Joshua and Amelia Lewis. We have been married since 2014. We met at a young age at Church Camp in Big Bear, California. We were young teens at the time and both junior counselors. We grew to be close friends and stayed in contact even outside of our summer camps. As we grew older we recognized our feelings for one another. However, God had a different plan for us. Josh’s family moved to Texas and we didn’t see each other for years. When Amelia went off to college, she chose to go to Lubbock Christian University, and it so happened during that time she had a field trip to Austin, where we reconnected and started dating. This chain of events led us to where we are now. We have learned through our lives and experiences that all things happen on God’s time and that all we have to do is trust in him and the right things will happen.

Understanding God’s role in our lives gives us continuous hope. We have always wanted children and to be able to share and create a family together. Unfortunately we have dealt with unexplained infertility throughout our marriage and have not been able to have children yet. We feel that God has led us to adoption as a means to growing our family.

Amelia is an entrepreneur. Very soon out of college, she decided that she wanted to be her own boss. She has created several successful businesses and side jobs that she gets to do on her own time so that she can make time for the important things. She started her own wedding planning business, ebay trading business, and most recently she has her own Etsy shop.

Joshua has worked at The Home Depot for the past 13 years. He has held a lot of positions and has worked his way into management as an Assistant Store Manager focusing on specialty and service sales. Josh graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Together we live on a small farm and raise quite a few different animals. We currently have 13 Sheep, 2 Donkeys, 13 Chickens, 3 Cats, 1 Dog, and a Tortoise. Raising animals was always a passion of Amelia and Josh joined in on the bandwagon when we bought this farm a few years ago. The only thing we are looking to add is a child to share in this experience.

We are so thankful that you have taken the time to read about us. No matter what your choice, we pray for you and your continued strength in this process.

With Love,
Josh & Amelia
