Adoption is a difficult and courageous decision, and we are honored that you would consider us as a family for your child. There aren’t enough words to describe all the emotions that you must be feeling during this process. With this letter, we hope to provide you with a picture of what life with our family would be like for your baby. Thank you for allowing us to introduce our family to you.
We are Josh & Allison (Alli). We are blessed with our son Brooks, who is 7 years old, but we have been unable to have children biologically together. So, after a long road of fertility treatments and challenges, we feel led to grow our family through adoption. We are both excited and anxious as we begin our adoption journey.
Alli is compassionate, organized and faithful. She grew up in a blended family. She has two sisters and a brother. As happens sometimes, unexpectedly she found out she was pregnant 3 weeks before college graduation. This was a very overwhelming and difficult time for Alli. She was a single mom for 2 ½ years before marrying Josh.
Josh is funny, hardworking and loyal. He likes to hunt and fish. He grew up in a loving, Christian home. Josh has an older sister and a younger brother.
We were introduced to one another while Alli was pregnant. After Brooks was born, Josh pursued Alli. She was hesitant due to being a single mom. She felt like no one would want her messy life. After dating off and on for two years, we were married in July 2013. In May 2014, Josh adopted Brooks. We have always been very open with Brooks about his adoption.
Brooks is an outgoing, fun-loving 7-year-old boy! Brooks loves to build legos, play with friends and snuggle/tickle! He is so eager to have a sibling. He prays every day for his brother or sister.
Ironically, when we met, we were both working in similar careers. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to start an Insurance Agency in 2015. We really enjoy working together. We love the flexibility this provides for us to have lots of family time. We love traveling to new and old places, cooking and hosting guests at our home.
We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to learn about us. We know that you are facing, quite possibly, the most difficult decision you have ever made. We plan to be very open about adoption with our children. We do not take the job of parenting lightly. As parents, we are responsible for equipping our children with the tools to live a life loving God and loving others. Although we don’t know who you are, we have been praying for you.
May You Be Blessed,
Josh & Alli
