Jorden and Whitney’s Letter

Dear Expectant Mother,

When we started the adoption process, the first thing we began to do is pray for you and your child every day. We pray that you feel the love God has for you, that He blesses you and fills your life with loving people to help as you navigate difficult times and care for the little one growing inside you. We admire the courage and strength you’ve shown by choosing love and life for your child. We are so excited to meet you and get to know you as we embark on this journey together.

We are Jorden and Whitney. We live in Prosper, Texas with our daughter, Emerie, and our golden retriever, Lexi. We enjoy being outside and spend lots of time at Whitney’s parent’s lake house where we enjoy water sports, fishing, working with the tractor, building and exploring as well as playing yard games and board games together. At home, we enjoy taking walks around the neighborhood, playing at the park, going to church, watching movies, trying new foods and spending quality time with loved ones. We look for and treasure all the little moments each day brings and see the beauty in our extraordinary, ordinary life.

Whitney was born in Texas where she grew up in a close-knit, loving family. She is the middle child between two awesome brothers. She has always loved working with children, and graduated from college with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After interning at our church with the children’s ministry one summer she felt God leading her to take on two part time jobs with the church. She worked for several years as the 1st – 4th grade ministry coordinator and as a preschool teacher. Now she enjoys being a stay-at-home mom to our daughter. Her days are filled with reading, exploring, pretend play and spending time with friends and their children. She is also very creative and loves to paint, create and repurpose items for our home.

Jorden was born in Colorado to a single mother. They moved to Texas when he was a baby. He is the oldest of three children with two sweet younger sisters. In high school, he was involved in band, playing tuba, and became drum major his senior year. In college, he studied construction engineering. He now works for a general contractor who does commercial construction and is responsible for business development. Jorden’s personality is larger than life. He is almost always found in the center of a crowd getting to know people and making them laugh. His hobbies include wood working, slow pitch softball, golf and spending time with good friends and family.

Our story dates back to our childhood. We have known each other since 6th grade and started dating our sophomore year in college. We dated through the rest of college and were married in 2009. We both always longed to be parents and were blessed with a child, our daughter, after a year of struggling with infertility. We dreamed we’d have three or four kids and were heartbroken to think that we may never have another biological child. Whitney had always wanted to adopt, but the Lord took our infertility struggle to speak to Jorden and begin to open his heart to adoption. After praying and seeking the Lord, both our hearts now long for adoption to be part of our family’s story as this reflects our adoption into God’s family. We are excited to see how God knits our stories together to create a beautiful tapestry rooted in love. We look forward to meeting the little life we have been praying for and can’t wait to shower them with the boundless love growing in our hearts. We pray that you consider us as the other half to your story.

With Love,
Jorden and Whitney
