Jorden and Whitney’s Letter

Dear Expectant Mother,

When we began the adoption process, the first thing we started to do is pray for you and your child. We pray that you feel the love God has for you, that He blesses you, and the He leads you as you navigate difficult times and care for the little one growing inside you. We admire the courage and strength you’ve shown by choosing love and life for your child. We are so excited to meet you and get to know you as we embark on this journey together.

We are Jorden and Whitney. We live in Prosper, Texas with our daughter, Emerie, and son, Rowen, as well as our golden retriever, Lexi. We enjoy being outside, and spending lots of time at Whitney’s parents’ lake house where we enjoy water sports, fishing, working on the tractor, building, exploring, playing yard games and board games, watching movies, trying new foods and spending quality time with loved ones. We always look for and treasure the little moments each day brings, and see the beauty in our extraordinary, ordinary life.

Whitney was born in Texas where she grew up in a close-knit, loving family. She is the middle child between two awesome brothers. She has always loved working with children and graduated from college with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After working as an intern with the children’s ministry one summer, she felt God leading her to take on two part-time jobs with the church. She worked for several years as the 1st-4th grade coordinator and as a preschool teacher. Now she enjoys being a stay-at-home mom to our children. Her days are filled with reading, exploring, pretend play and spending time with friends and their children. She is also very creative and loves to paint, create, and repurpose items for our home.

Jorden was born in Colorado, to a single mother, and they moved to Texas when he was a baby. He is the oldest of three children with two sweet younger sisters. In high school he was involved in band, playing tuba, and became drum major his senior year. In college he studied construction engineering. He now works for a general contractor who does commercial construction and is responsible for business development. Jorden’s personality is larger than life. He is a people person who is often described as a big teddy bear. His hobbies include wood working, fishing, skiing, music and spending time with good friends and family.

We have known each other since 6th grade and started dating our sophomore year of college. We dated through the rest of college and were married in 2009. We both always longed to be parents and were blessed with a child, our daughter, after over a year of struggling with infertility. We have always dreamed we’d have three or four children and were heartbroken to think that we may never have another child. Whitney always wanted to adopt, but the Lord took our infertility struggle to speak to Jorden and open his heart to adoption. After prayer and seeking the Lord, our hearts both longed for adoption to be part of our family’s story because we have been adopted into God’s family. In 2018, we had a surprise blessing of another biological child, a son. We were so surprised to be pregnant again because of our previous struggles with infertility. Our son has been such a blessing yet having him did not change our desire to adopt. We are excited to see how God knits each of our stories together to create a beautiful family tapestry rooted in love. We look forward to meeting the mother and little life we have bathed in prayer for over two years, and can’t wait for the day we will be able to pour out the boundless love that has been growing in our hearts all these years. We pray that you consider us as the other half to your story.

Love,
Jorden and Whitney
