Jake and Jenna’s Letter

Hello there!

We don’t know the exact details of your situation, but we are praying for you just the same. You may be in a difficult spot considering a difficult choice. There may be no easy roads forward, but God can use the most trying of situations for His glory and for the ultimate good of you and your baby. We pray for your strength, your safety, and for the little one God has entrusted you with.

We would like to introduce ourselves to you for your consideration. Our names are Jake and Jenna and we’ve been married since 2008. We met in high school in marching band and got married after graduating from college. Having been married for over ten years, we have grown to love each other more and more, and we truly make a great team!

When we got married, we dreamed of having at least three children. We never expected such a difficult road, but by 2012 we had faced infertility and the crushing loss of miscarriage. God laid adoption on our hearts, and in 2013 we became foster parents. We hoped we might have the opportunity to adopt, but even if not, we were committed to giving children all the love and care they deserved for as long as they remained with us.

Over the course of several years, we had three beautiful babies pass through foster care in our home and eventually on to live with birth relatives. Their cases were all different, but we loved them all the same. We will always love them and want the best for them. It brings us such joy and comfort when we get pictures of them and hear how they’re doing. We feel that foster care has made us better prepared to be adoptive parents, and we’re more ready and excited than ever to welcome a child into our family through adoption!

In 2014 in the midst of our foster care journey, the Lord blessed us with the birth of a son we named Nathanael. He loves to build things with Legos and create grand machines with his imagination. One of our favorites was a machine that would make lemonade rain from the ceiling! He is a funny and gentle child and is eager to share everything he knows. He is really excited about adoption and becoming a big brother!

Jake is a software engineer, working on technology to help keep the armed forces safe. It is challenging and often puzzling work, but it’s always satisfying to find and squash those tenacious bugs. He has a flexible schedule that allows him to always be there for his family. Outside of work, you’ll find him cooking dinner, making bad (dad?) jokes, playing video or board games, painting miniature figures, or serving at the church teaching high school students. He loves being a father for Nathanael and playing games with him every day.

Jenna spends her days raising Nathanael and managing the home. She volunteers teaching English to adults from all over the world and also plays flute in the church orchestra. She enjoys practicing Spanish with her friend who is a native speaker, and learning new things like guitar and sign language. She really loves taking care of babies and can’t wait to do it again! Being a mama is the best thing in the world to her.

If you’d like to learn more about us, we’d very much love to meet you! Thank you for considering us as a potential family for your precious child.

May God bless you,
Jake and Jenna
