Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for taking a moment to get to know our family. We cannot imagine the courage and selflessness it must take to make an adoption plan for your child. We are humbled that you would consider entrusting us with your most precious gift, a child that would bond us together for a lifetime.
We are David and Leah. We were born on the same day, in nearby hospitals, attended the same university, but didn’t meet until 2005 in a small group bible study. We knew almost immediately that we would spend the rest of our lives together, and were married a year later. This year we will celebrate 15 years of marriage, and our daughter was born in 2013. She is an absolute bundle of joy, energy, laughter, and love! Our daughter has such a warm, kind, and gentle spirit. She is constantly looking for ways to bring others joy, and her heart is already overflowing with love for a sibling she hasn’t even met. Experiencing life with her and seeing the world through her eyes has made us long for another child. We always thought we’d have a big family, but were met with unexpected infertility. The pain and loss experienced over the last several years has been difficult, but not lessened our desire to grow our family.
David is a video editor who enjoys providing for and spending time with his family. His schedule can be demanding at times yet flexible, with the ability to work at home when needed. David loves jeeps and off-roading adventures, being outdoors, traveling, cinema, and is an avid reader. Leah is a compassionate educator with a heart for kids. She has taken her 14 years of public-school experience and is now using it to teach our daughter. She also teaches part time at the co-op our daughter attends. She loves travel, family time, reading, and comedy.
Our home is a warm and cozy place to be, where we snuggle on the couch for family move nights, camp out in the backyard and make s’mores, and regularly ask each other for one more bedtime story before saying the Lord’s prayer together each night. We live in a small town, just far enough from the city to enjoy life in the country. We treasure our family walks in the evening after dinner, with our daughter biking or scootering along, and our dog Max trailing behind. Max is sweet, loyal, and so much fun, as every dog should be. Being a homeschooling family, we enjoy frequent trips to the library, cooking and baking together, visiting museums, nature parks, or the zoo. Our family loves swimming at the community pools, hiking nearby trails, visiting neighborhood parks, taking day trips, and exploring God’s beautiful creation in the great outdoors.
All of our extended family lives within thirty minutes to an hour away from us, and we can easily get together for family dinners, birthdays, and holidays. Grandparents, aunts, and uncle have attended a piano recital, school performances, served alongside us at church, and were there the day our daughter was baptized! We have a strong support system of family and friends, many of whom have adopted, and who continue to faithfully pray for us as we pursue adoption.
It would be an honor to give your child a Christian home, filled with plenty of love, laughter, snuggles and cuddles. Your child will be cherished, adored, and loved unconditionally. We will always speak of you with the utmost gratitude, and your act of courage will always be held in the highest esteem.
Thank you so much for considering our family. We are hopeful and prayerful God would grow our family through adoption. If you would like to talk with us, we would love to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about our family. We are praying for you, your child, and the decisions you have ahead. We ask the Lord to grant you peace in your decision.
May God Bless and Keep You,
David and Leah
