Dear Birth Mother,
We are Billy and Virginia. We hope we get the honor of meeting you, but in case we do not, you should know how much we admire your strength and courage. We don’t know your specific story, but we hope to one day. Regardless though, we do know that it takes courage to carry a pregnancy to the end. It takes strength to choose life for your baby. We have cried for you, prayed for you and will continue to do so. Thank you for being an example of perseverance to us.
Billy is a captain in the Air Force where he is a C-130 cargo plane pilot and Virginia is an artist, designer, market owner and soon to be stay at home mom. We love to travel and see the world which the Air Force has given us the opportunity to do! But we also love being home bodies, hanging out with friends, relaxing and watching a good show. We both love coffee, cool weather, being outside and sports. On date nights you can catch us at the movie theater, eating popcorn and drinking Dr. Pepper until we are sick. We also enjoy having people in our home, gathering around the dinner table, sharing delicious food and good conversation.
We met in the fall of 2016 and became quick friends. Billy however was a little slow to see how much more we could be (something he has been unable to live down to this day). Thankfully though, he finally came to his senses, and we got married in June of 2018. Marriage has been wonderful and hard. We have laughed so much, seen great loss and experienced the daily joys and difficulties that life brings. It feels like we’ve lived so much life together in our couple years of marriage. We are thankful to the Lord for the door he’s opened for adoption, and we’re excited to see where he leads us next.
Starting a family of our own is something we have been looking forward to for most of our marriage. We are so very excited to bring our first child home! Billy is so kind and caring, steady and strong. He will lead, love fiercely and will also be such a fun dad! He is the life of the party when the nieces and nephews are around, always willing to go out of his way to play with them or make them laugh.
Virginia is compassionate and kind, and the way she’s able to connect with people amazes Billy. One of the things Billy loves the most about her is the way she cares for those in need regardless of background and without judgement. She is already the favorite aunt to all of our nieces and nephews (literally all 30 of them). They’re drawn to the way she makes everything fun, interacts with them on their level, and loves them so well. She is going to be an amazing mom!
We know that difficult circumstances likely brought you to this moment and we grieve that with you. We pray that the Lord blesses your life and the decision you made to choose life for your baby. We pray that you know and believe that you are loved and that you are worthy.
