Billy and Virginia’s Letter

Dear Birthmother,

Our names are Billy and Virginia Vine. We hope we get the honor of meeting you, but in case we do not, you should know how much we admire your strength and courage. We don’t know your specific story, but we hope to one day. Regardless though, we do know that it takes courage to carry a pregnancy to the end. To choose life for your baby takes strength. We have cried for you and prayed for you. Thank you for being an example of perseverance to us.

Billy is a major in the Air Force where he is a C-130 cargo plane pilot and Virginia is an artist and stay at home mom our almost 4 year old and almost 2 year old. We love to travel and see the world, which the Air Force has given us the opportunity to do, but we also love being home bodies, relaxing, going on walks with our boys and watching a good movie or sporting event. We both love coffee, cool weather, being outside and sports. We also really love being around our families. They have loved us and times together are sweet.

We got married on June 23rd of 2018. We are so thankful for our marriage. We have laughed so much, seen great loss, experienced the daily joys and difficulties that life brings. We have also grown our family, adding two sons through adoption. It is such a gift to do it all together. It feels like we’ve lived so much life in our 6 years of marriage.

We are so very excited to bring home a baby brother or sister to be loved by our whole family. Billy is so kind and caring, steady and strong. He leads and loves fiercely and is the most fun dad! The pure joy you see in our boys says it all. He is always willing to go out of his way to play with them, going adventures and make them laugh. Virginia is compassionate and kind, and the way she’s able to connect with people amazes me. One of the things I love the most about her is the way she cares for those in need regardless of background and without judgement. She is an amazing mom. Our boys are drawn to her warmth and the way she makes everything fun, the way she interacts with them builds deep connections with their hearts. She loves them so well. They know their every need will be met and every hurt will be cared for.

We know that difficult circumstances likely brought you to this moment and we grieve that with you. We pray that the Lord blesses your life and the decision you made to choose life for your baby. We pray that you know and believe that you are loved and that you are worthy.

We have seen how beautiful adoption is. But we have also seen how hard it can be. We are thankful for your decision to walk this road and we hope to get to join you in it.
