Billy and Virginia’s Letter

Dear Birth Mother,

We are Billy and Virginia. We hope we get the honor of meeting you, but in case we do not, you should know how much we admire your strength and courage. We don’t know your specific story, but we hope to one day. Regardless though, we do know that it takes courage to carry a pregnancy to the end. It takes strength to choose life for your baby. We have cried for you, prayed for you and will continue to do so. Thank you for being an example of perseverance to us.

Billy is a captain in the Air Force where he is a C-130 cargo plane pilot and Virginia is an artist, designer, and stay at home mom. We love to travel and see the world which the Air Force has given us the opportunity to do! But we also love being home bodies, hanging out with friends, relaxing and watching a good show. We both love coffee, cool weather, being outside, and sports. On date nights you can catch us at the movie theater, eating popcorn and drinking Dr. Pepper until we are sick. We also enjoy having people in our home, gathering around the dinner table, sharing delicious food and good conversation.

We met in the fall of 2016 and became quick friends. Billy, however, was a little slow to see how much more we could be (something he has been unable to live down to this day). Thankfully though, he finally came to his senses, and we got married in June of 2018. Marriage has been wonderful and hard. We have laughed so much, seen great loss and experienced the daily joys and difficulties that life brings. It feels like we’ve lived so much life together in our couple years of marriage.

In January of 2021 we matched with and met our son, William Tyler (Ty). It was a moment that even now is hard to put into words. Ty has been one of the biggest blessings of our entire life. We are honored and so thankful that we get to be his parents. He has brought us so much joy, and we can’t imagine life without him. He is very social, loves to smile and make friends with everyone wherever we go. Around the house you can find him playing with his toys, going on walks in the stroller, getting his food everywhere except his mouth, and “helping” us with projects. He loves animals of all kinds (but especially dogs) and other kids. With the way he enjoys other kids, we can’t wait to see him be a big brother. He’s going to be a great one.

We are so excited to grow our family and are thankful to the Lord for the door he’s opened for adoption. We’ve learned first-hand that adoption is a hard, but beautiful thing. We know that difficult circumstances likely brought you to this moment, and we grieve that with you. We pray that the Lord blesses your life, and the decision you made to choose life for your baby. We pray that you know and believe that you are loved and that you are worthy.
