Alan and Jennifer’s Letter

Dear Birthmother,

We honor you for the courageous decision that you have made to choose life for your baby and look at all the options for securing your baby’s future. We want you to know that we are prepared to give this child a life filled with love and opportunity.

We are Alan and Jennifer, and we are grateful for the opportunity to tell you about our family, our home,
and our hopes and dreams for a child. We’ve been happily married for eleven years, and are looking forward to adopting a baby.

Alan and Jennifer met at church thirteen years ago and have been inseparable since. We love to spend time together, going on adventures to new places both near and far as a family. When we got married we always knew we wanted to have a family. However, God’s plan for us to do so was different than we expected. After over 4 years of infertility struggles, we opted to do In-Vitro Fertilization, and were overjoyed to have our daughter, Katelyn, who is 4 years old. We tried again for another addition to the family, and were met with more struggles. We’d always talked about how we would love to adopt a child into our family, and believe God is leading us down that path.

We live in a smaller town in Texas. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood, on a quiet street filled with incredibly kind people. There are many opportunities to play outside at our playgrounds, go on walks with our dog, Dexter, catch bugs, or just sit on our porch and enjoy the sunsets.

Alan is a youth minister at our church home, which is located near the town we live in. He works with teens on their spiritual walks with God, and also plays sports, eats meals, and plans fun activities with them. He is definitely a kid at heart with a fun and extroverted personality. He is also a wonderful dad and husband, and gets to spend most evenings and weekends with Jennifer and Kate, playing hide and seek, telling exciting stories, or making the best grilled cheese sandwiches.

Jennifer is an elementary music teacher at a school near the town we live in, and she looks forward to having her own kids in her music class one day.  She is very passionate about music, and loves her job, but also loves the opportunities to spend time with family when she’s on school breaks. She enjoys playing dress-up, crafting, and reading books with her daughter on her days off.

Our daughter, Kate, is at an awesome age for a sibling. She talks about a baby brother or sister frequently. She is a sweet and silly girl who really cares about others, and I know she will be a loving, gentle and great big sister.

We know we were meant to be parents. We have plenty of room in our hearts to love another child. All children are gifts, and you would be giving us the greatest gift imaginable by adding to our family. We would love to be able to give your baby a life of love and opportunity, and can’t wait for this wonderful adventure.
