Dear Birth Mother,
We are honored and humbled that you are taking the time to read about our family. Your courage to make such a difficult, selfless, and sacrificial decision is an inspiration to both of us. Our prayer is that God is granting you peace and the comfort of His grace as you make a decision about your child’s future. We want this letter to give you an idea of who we are and hopefully answer some of your questions.
We are Michael and Lisa, and we are excited about the opportunity to adopt another child. Although we have been unable to have a child biologically, we have come to see this as a blessing. We know as adopted children of God, we have the opportunity to open our hearts and home to a child through adoption. We believe that God has a plan for every one of us, which will have many bumps in the road, but in the end that plan will bring us unimaginable blessings. Those blessings include you and your baby.
We met each other at camp in 2000, fell in love in 2007, and have now been married a little over six years. Both of us serve as missionaries at a large Christian camp which runs all year long. We are surrounded by wonderful staff who love the Lord and are also praying for you and your child. It’s an exciting life here. There is always something to do, people to meet, something to learn, and always Christ centered.
We are best of friends and love to spend time together as a family making memories. We also love being at camp, being active in our church, and spending time with friends and family. We play board games, watch football and movies, and love walking through the small community near us getting to know neighbors. Michael’s hobbies include landscaping, building with LEGO’s, fishing, gardening, and doing home improvements, while Lisa loves scrapbooking, cooking, coffee with friends, and reading any book she can get her hands on.
Our three bedroom home lies on a five acre plot among the Northwood pines with lots a room to play and explore. Its got some big couches to watch movies on and a big open basement room to play in when its cold outside. Just recently we have taken in a golden retriever puppy whom we named “Ginger” who is very affectionate and cuddly which adds to the furry feline we already have named “Chloe”.
Michael serves primarily as the Computer Systems Manager but is also a snowboard instructor, high and low ropes facilitator, and one of the many camp griller’s. His degree is originally in Youth Ministry so he loves working with kids and families; teaching them new skills, learn something new about themselves, and sharing Christ in those opportune moments.
Lisa started college but took a year off to work in Food Service at camp in 1994. She loved it so much that she never left! However, she has step down to be become a full-time mom to our now two year old daughter Jadyn. Our goal as parents is to provide a safe, secure, and loving environment for your child while instilling in them a deep love for Jesus.
We are so excited to meet and talk with you! We will feel a strong obligation to our child as well as you, the birth mother, because we will have been chosen by you to become your baby’s parents. We will continue to pray for you and your baby and hope all of God’s blessings are upon you both! Please call Christian Homes so we can talk with you, learn about you and your life, and answer questions you may have for us.
With love and care,
Michael and Lisa
