Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. We understand that this is a very trying time in your life and want you to know we are praying God will give you strength and comfort in your journey. We have the deepest respect for you and the love you have for your baby. It is our hope this letter will answer some questions you may have about us as a couple.
We are Jonathan and Megan. We have been married since 2006 and have been blessed with one son through adoption. We have absolutely loved being parents to him and are really excited about growing our family again with another child. We feel to be chosen to love and cherish a child by their birth mother is the highest honor one could receive as a parent. The placement of a child is a gift from God, and one that comes with great responsibility. We want this child to always know the love that both you and us have for them.
We were introduced to one another at church, dated for five years, and were married after college. Since marriage, we have attended the same church congregation faithfully. We are active in the teaching program and youth activities. We live in a quiet neighborhood just outside of a small town. We are very close to our family and get together with them often. Our excited to adopt family includes several cousins, aunts, uncles, Papa, Nana, Pa, Mamoo, and great grandpa “Big Pa”. Some of our favorite activities include camping, kayaking, and stargazing, but we also enjoy activities focused around our son like playing in the yard and going to the aquarium. We also love a relaxing movie night at home with gooey chocolate chip cookies and milk, and sometimes we even set the tent up in the living room to make it even more fun.
Jonathan is an account rep for a metal recycling and waste services company. He works close to home and is able to take off easily if needed. He is home every night and off every weekend. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, metal working, and home improvement projects. He loves to be outside and is patient with our son who wants to be by his side at every step of the way. He is a very friendly and caring person and is always willing to help someone out.
Megan is an RN and works full time at the VA hospital. Although, her favorite time is her time at home with her family. She plans to take the fullest allowable time off work following the adoption of their second child. She enjoys spending time with her family, scrapbooking, and sewing. Hiking and camping are her outdoor favorites, and she loves to having s’mores around a campfire.
We have enjoyed doing many things together throughout our marriage, but we have most enjoyed being parents together. Adoption is something we have put a lot of thought and prayer into, and we know you have as well. Our hope is to be able to surround our children with a loving, encouraging, Christian atmosphere throughout their life. We look forward to continuing this journey and getting to know you better. We will be praying daily for you and your baby.
