A Letter from Tyler and Beth

Tyler and Beth

Dear Birthmother,

Oh what a wonderful blessing a child is!  I want to start off by thanking you so much for taking time to read this.  We can only imagine the sacrifices you have had to make and want you to know you are in our prayers as you make this very difficult decision.

First, allow us to introduce ourselves.  We are Tyler and Beth.  We live in a very small town in central Texas.  We have been happily married for 2 1/2 years.  Our faith is important to us and we currently attend a great congregation about twenty miles from our home.  Our congregation is blessed to have a very strong children’s ministry and youth program.  Both of us have a loving and supportive family with which we have a very close relationship.  (Is it possible to be too close?)  Our families are as eager as we are to have a new addition to our family.  Our family has been blessed with four beautiful nieces and two handsome nephews, and all are ready to play with their new cousin and show them the ins and outs of the family, all the fun times we have together, Nana and Papaw camp each summer and how to frog hunt (a famous down-time at Nana’s house)!  Fortunately, the majority of our family lives within twenty minutes (some within seconds) of us, so your child will have a very close relationship with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Overall, we are an extremely happy and fun family!!!  We get together for every birthday and holiday (at a minimum) to celebrate and spend the day (sometimes days) together!  We try to make an annual family vacation or camping trip together.  We have lots of fun family traditions that have been incorporated over the years (raw Easter egg fights, egg tosses, water balloon fights…all of the messy stuff!)

Now would you like to know a little about each of us?  Beth is employed with a great organization, a Christian oriented medical office, which is about twenty miles from home.  Her job is very rewarding and she loves her co-workers!  All of her co-workers are so supportive of our decision to adopt.  When she is not at work, she enjoys decorating, scrapbooking, reading, and playing tennis.  Tyler is an assistant manager at a sporting goods store about fifteen miles from home.  Tyler enjoys playing tennis, flag football, camping, fishing, and anything that requires the outdoors.  We do A LOT with our family and church family so there is always an activity going on around here!

When we married, like most couples we never dreamed we would have a problem starting a family.  We knew from the very beginning we wanted to start a family immediately, so we began trying to conceive.  After a year and a half, we decided to seek medical assistance.  After numerous OB office visits, tests, sonograms, and specialist visits, we were told corrective surgery might improve our chances by up to 20%; however, without surgery it would not be possible for us to have children.  After much thought and prayer, we felt this was God’s way of telling us it was not his intentions for us to have biological children.  We have since put everything into His hands and have started the adoption process.  We are very excited about the opportunities that have been presented to us and we are very eager to complete our family.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and consider us as potential parents of your child!  We are patiently waiting for the day when God answers our prayers and we pray God will bless you and your child, whatever your decision might be.

Sincerely,
Tyler and Beth
