A Letter from Rick and Jennifer
Dear Birth Mother,
Our hearts and prayers are with you during this time of difficult decisions. We are in awe of your courage and strength to provide a family for your baby, and we know that God will guide you to the perfect family for your child. We are grateful that you are reading this letter, and we hope it answers questions that you may have about us.
We are Rick and Jennifer, and we are very excited about adopting our second child. We always knew that we wanted children in our lives. However, four years went by before we realized that God was leading us to adoption.
We met during a summer session in college and were married 3 years after meeting. We have been married now for 8 years. Our marriage is built on love, respect, and trust. We truly believe that we are soul mates. Rick has a degree in Computer Science, and he is the IT Manager of a local company. He enjoys playing video games and working on old vehicles. Jennifer graduated with a degree in education. She taught 7th grade math for 7 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. In her free time, Jennifer likes to cross-stitch and is learning how to sew. She feels blessed that she gets to spend every day with our son.
In 2006, we adopted our beautiful baby boy, Zachary. He is the joy of our lives, and we know that he will be a wonderful big brother. Zach enjoys playing with trains, cars, and blocks. He likes to be outside, and he loves to watch football just like his mom. Jennifer and Zach have music on most of the day so they can sing and dance while they play.
We live in a small West Texas town close to both of our families. Zachary sees both sets of grandparents at least once a week. Jennifer’s sisters also live close by with their families, and a new cousin made his debut in May. Although Rick’s sister lives 8 hours away, her son and Zach enjoy playing with each other when they are together. Both of our families are looking forward to having another child in the family to love.
Our five cats let us live rent-free in their 2-story house that sits on 2 1/2 acres of land. Darby, Darcy, Tator Tot, Bailey, and Smokey enjoy the extra petting they get with a child in the house even though Zach does like to chase them when they aren’t sleeping.
Family weekends are important to us. It is our time to be together. We like to explore different parks in the area along with feeding ducks and playing putt-putt.
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. If you decide to consider us in your adoption plan, we would be honored to meet you. We will continually pray that God’s hand will be on your heart, and that His love will surround you.
Sincerely,
Rick and Jennifer
