A Letter from Nathan and Laura

Nathan and Laura

Dear Birth Mother,

We can only imagine how much courage and love that it has taken you to choose life for your baby!  It’s not easy making decisions that will forever shape your baby’s life.  As you sort through these decisions, know you are in our thoughts and prayers.  We know you want the best for your baby and you are our hero.

We met in college and have been married since 2006.  We both love children; and, shortly after our marriage, we decided we would one day adopt a child.  God put adoption on our hearts 3 years ago, so when we learned about our infertility issues less than a year ago, we knew God had been preparing us for adoption all along.

Nathan is a youth and family minister.  He loves working with the teenagers and teaching them about God.  He says it is hard to call his job “work” when he is having so much fun!  Nathan loves to hike, backpack, play games and sports, and travel.  He looks forward to the day he can play games with his kids!

Laura is an elementary school teacher.  She has a tender heart for children and works very hard at what she does.  She can’t wait for the day when she can take on her new full-time job as a stay-at-home mom!  Laura enjoys reading, playing games, hiking, and doing crafts.  She also loves having the church youth group over to the house and making them cookies!  She is looking forward to reading books, giving hugs, doing crafts, kissing the bumps and bruises, and everything else that comes with being a mommy!

We live in a small, rural town.  Since Nathan is the minister, we live in the house next to our church.  Our home is fairly large and spread out with plenty of room to play.  Our front yard is large enough for a football game, although the pine trees might get in the way!  We have a large fenced-in backyard.  To make things even better, the church playground is right behind our fence!

We are very excited about our family growing.  We have so much peace about adopting!  Our extended families can’t wait for us to bring home a baby!  Currently we have 2 nephews, 3 nieces, and 2 more surprises on the way!  Our parents are so supportive and excited about our new addition.  Your child will be loved all around.  We want you to know we are praying for you and your child already.  As your child’s forever family, we promise to be there through the ups and downs, the good times and the sad times.  We will love you and your child the rest of our lives.

With loving and thankful hearts,

Nathan and Laura
