A Letter from Blake and Brittney

Blake and Brittney

Dear Birth Mother,

We can’t even begin to imagine the difficult situation you are in.  We know you must be experiencing overwhelming feelings of confusion.  We have so much respect and admiration for you.  Above all, we tremendously admire your decision to choose life for your baby.  May God give you strength at this time to make the right decision for you and your baby.

We are Blake and Brittney and have been married over 7 years.  We met 10 years ago through mutual friends.  Our marriage is built on faith, love, and mutual respect.  Our love for each other and faith in God grows with each passing year.  We live in south Louisiana.  Blake enjoys his job in the oil refining industry.  He works 2 miles from home.  His work schedule gives him a lot of time off, which will be great when a little one arrives.  Blake enjoys anything related to the outdoors.  His hobbies include fishing, hunting, reading, gardening, and a love for sports.  Brittney’s passion for children led her to teaching.  She teaches at a middle school 5 miles from home.  Her favorite things to do are scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  It is our intention for Brittney to stay home full time when we become parents.

We are devoted members of our local catholic church.  It is in the church parish where Brittney grew up and to which many family members belong.  Daily prayer and weekly mass with family are an important part of our lives.

We bought and remodeled a 3 bedroom home in a quiet, established neighborhood 5 years ago.  Several family members and a park are in walking distance.  Together, we enjoy many things.  We love to go camping and fishing.  We enjoy riding bikes together and cooking.  Tailgating for LSU football is a fun part of our fall each year.  We are blessed with loving families and wonderful friends.  Spending time with them is very important to both of us.  We have a lot of extended family in addition to our immediate families.  Between us, there are a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins and many family get-togethers and celebrations throughout the year.  A big family trip to the beach each year is a fun part of our summer.  We have weaved a close knit pattern between our families and across our friends.

We have been through a lot of struggles over the past 5 years in trying to become parents.  We truly feel in our hearts God has led us on the path to adopt.  We believe it is His plan for us to parent a child we did not create biologically, but was instead created in our hearts.  We are so very excited and anxious to welcome a baby into our hearts and our home and start the family we have been dreaming of for so long.  We know that by choosing us to raise your baby, you are giving us the most amazing responsibility, both to you and your baby.  Our struggles to become parents have certainly strengthened our marriage.  We have had to lean on each other in ways we never imagined.  It has brought us closer, not only to each other but God, as well.  The only thing missing from our life is children.  We hope and pray this missing piece will be filled very soon.

We welcome the chance to get to know you and develop a relationship in which we are all comfortable.  Please feel free to contact us at the email address or through Christian Homes.  We thank you for considering us as adoptive parents.  We wish you the best

Sincerely,
Blake and Brittney
