A Letter from Alec and Lacey

Alec and Lacey

Dear Birth Mother,

We are honored that you have taken the time to read our letter and find out a little bit more about us.  There must be so many questions going through your mind right now, but we have sent many prayers your way.  You are so brave and are showing such love for your child by choosing adoption.  We will continue to pray that God will ease your mind, strengthen your heart, and carry you along this path.

We are Alec and Lacey.  Though married for 9 1/2 years, we have been together for 15!  Growing up at the same church, eventually we began dating in high school, and the rest is history.  We have two sons—Cade, who is 4, and Sawyer, who is about to be 2, and they are our greatest blessings.  Our beautiful home is in Houston, which is where we were both born and raised.  After a short, 2 year adventure to California for Alec to attend graduate school at Stanford, we knew it was time to return “home.”  We bought our home 4 years ago, and have been making cherished memories here ever since.

Alec is a leader for Texas Children’s Hospital and loves it!  He has truly found his place there and plans to stay for his career.  His hours are flexible so he never misses a thing at home.  Though he loves his “day job,” his greatest passion is the youth at our church.  Alec is the youth deacon, which allows him to spend a great deal of time mentoring young people and being a big kid himself—his favorite hobby!  We work with 6-12th graders and spend our summers at church camp, at retreats in the hills, at Friday night football games and teaching the Word of God.  Other hobbies for Alec include all things outdoors, all types of sports, doing projects around the house, traveling to far away places, and most importantly anything that involves Cade and Sawyer.

Lacey is a stay-at-home Mom, and works to keep things in motion!  Lacey spent time as an elementary teacher and an early childhood coordinator.  However, her greatest, most fascinating job is being a full-time mom to Cade and Sawyer.  Though it sounds very cliche, Lacey works very hard to keep all of the balls in the air!  She is Alec’s right hand man, and often takes care of organizing things for the youth at church.  She is their “mom away from mom.”  Lacey loves expressing her creative side in many different ways, as well as outdoors, sports, movies, and of course, spending quality time with Cade and Sawyer.

Cade is a wonderful four year old boy that answered our prayers the first time.  God has blessed us tremendously through him, and he is a fantastic older brother to Sawyer.  It is a joy watching them play.

Sawyer is a warm and funny little guy who just lights up a room.  We would love nothing more than to give him and Cade another sibling.  They have a lot of love to share.

We will continue to pray, and we are confident that God will lead you to the right family for this sweet baby.  Thank you for being so brave.  You are the perfect example of what true love is…putting your child before anything else.

Sincerely,
Alec and Lacey
