Brett and Dana's Letter

Dear Expecting Mother,

Can you remember a time in your life during the Christmas Season when you were looking at the twinkling lights on a house as you drove by, or maybe the glimmer of the lights on a Christmas tree? In that moment, did you feel as if anything was possible, an overwhelming peace, or even that a Christmas miracle was possible like we always see on television? We can both look back during our lives and pinpoint a specific moment during a Christmas Season and remember all the dreams we had. The Christmas Season is our favorite time of year. It is a time to celebrate, a time to love, and a time to dream for the future. Our biggest dream that we have had for several years now is to bring a precious baby into our home to celebrate, love, and dream for their future. Our infertility has led us to adoption, but we have always been interested in it, even before we were married. We cannot promise that we will be perfect parents, but we can promise you that we will do everything in our means to make sure your child is surrounded by love and happiness. We know this decision must be very difficult and emotional. Our prayer for you is unexplainable peace and security in knowing that you and your child are already loved and prayed over.

We are Brett and Dana. We married on New Years Eve 2011. We met in college, dated for four years, and then got married. We are each other’s best friends. We are constantly laughing and having a good time. Together we love to cook, fish, work out, play with our dogs, and spend time with family and friends. We love to make the most out of life. Sometimes that looks like family cook outs on the grill outside, board game nights, movie nights, trips to the zoo and aquarium, or attending a sporting event. While we love to make homemade meals together at home, we also love to eat out and try new foods. Brett is an Optometrist, which is an eye doctor. Thankfully, his job does not require him to be on call; therefore he is in the home a lot. He works at an eye clinic just down the road. The biggest accomplishment to him is when he is able to help a patient see who was previously deemed “legally blind.” He love to play Frisbee, workout, and watch football. Dana is a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. She helps moms bring their babies into the world. To her, it is the greatest joy to be able to experience the gift of life each day. She is able to physically and emotionally comfort and support the fears, pains, and emotions that come along with pregnancy and labor. Outside of work, her favorite thing to do is any type of cooking. She specifically loves making and decorating cupcakes. Her favorite place to go is to the beach.

Our three-bedroom two-bath house is nestled on almost five acres of land. The house has plenty of space for growing a family. Our yard is just dying for a swing set and play place! We have a loving and playful Golden Retriever named Kirby and a snuggly Weenie Dog named Tebow. We are so lucky to have parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins so close to our house. Dana’s parents have yet to have any grandchildren. They are anxiously waiting for the day that they get to use their new grandparent titles “Nanna Momma” and “PaPa Lewie.” Brett’s parents have two grand children, Macy (6) and Dusty (9), but welcome many more grandchildren.

We want you to know that you and your baby are fully welcome into our lives and into our family’s lives, although we respect whatever decision you make. We have been able to tell you just a little bit about ourselves but we want to hear about YOU! We want to learn your story, your hobbies, your interests, and your hopes and dreams. We are praying for you and hopefully we get to meet! Our personal email is brettdanabennett@gmail.com.
