Brent and Sara Jane's Letter

Dear Birthmother,

We are so honored you would allow us to share our lives with you. We could never accurately convey how truly grateful we are for you and your brave decision to love your baby so sacrificially. While we cannot fully understand the weight this decision must have on you, we recognize it is a decision you have not made lightly, and we are extremely thankful for your decision to, not only choose life for your baby, but also consider entrusting his or her precious life to our care. We are praying that God would comfort you in times of heartache and give you peace in your decision.

We are Brent and Sara Jane. We met in 2010 while working together at a Teen Residential Treatment Facility, which combined our passion of serving others with our love for kids/youth. We were married in 2012, and over the last five years of marriage, our love for one another has only deepened. Our faith in God is the most important aspect of our lives, and we seek to place God at the center of our marriage in all we do. While we may not always love one another perfectly, we truly are the best of friends and genuinely enjoy one another. Over the last three years, our desire to start a family has grown; however, we have been unable to conceive. Throughout our battle with infertility, we have experienced deep heartache, sorrow, loneliness and loss as we have longed for a child, but God has brought healing to our hearts, and we are beyond thrilled He has led us to pursue adoption. We absolutely cannot wait to be parents, and we are eager to share our love with a child.

We are fortunate to live close to Sara Jane’s family. This will be the first grandbaby on her side of the family, and her parents cannot wait to become grandparents and lavish lots of love on their grandchild. Her sisters and our brother-in-law are looking forward to welcoming a little niece or nephew into the family as well. While Brent’s family does not live close, his parents are equally as excited to welcome their third grandchild into the family. His sister and her husband cannot wait for us to bring our little one when we visit so their two children will have a cousin to play with. Along with our family, we have a community of friends that surrounds us, and they have supported us throughout our adoption journey. This little one is already loved and cherished by so many.

Brent is a Customer Support Engineer for a company that specializes in making seats for aircrafts. His company works extended hours Monday-Thursday, which allows him to work half days every Friday. In addition, he has ample vacation time and is able to be home during the holidays. Sara Jane is a Special Education Teacher at a Middle School where she works directly with students requiring behavioral support in the classroom. She has extended breaks during fall, winter, spring and the entire summer off. While we do not have set childcare plans, our hope is that Sara Jane will be able to stay home with the baby.

In our free time, we enjoy going on walks around our neighborhood or getting together with family or friends for dinner and game nights. Many of our Friday nights are spent ordering a pizza and watching a good movie. Brent loves to tinker around the house or spend time outside working in the yard. He frequently goes outside to chat with neighbors, and he never meets a stranger. He is a big kid at heart, and he is often told he gives the BEST hugs. Sara Jane loves to read and enjoys getting together with her girlfriends for coffee and good conversation. She has an infectious laugh, and she cares deeply about others. We both love to serve others, and we volunteer in the children’s ministry of our church, which brings our hearts so much joy. One of the things we love to do most together is travel. We cannot wait to build memories as a family on our family vacations.

We are so excited to meet you! We are looking forward to getting to know you better, and we would love the opportunity to talk and share more with you. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. Your courageous sacrifice will give us the opportunity to become parents, and we could not be more grateful for you. Know that you are prayed for and loved.

Love,
Brent & Sara Jane
