Adam and Kelsey's Letter

Dear Birth Mom,

We know that choosing adoption for your child is not easy. We can’t fathom the kind of selflessness it takes to make this decision and what kind of emotional rollercoaster you are on right now. We love you, and all we can do is pray for you and your child. We are here for you and we want nothing but the best for both of you. We are so ready to meet you and foster a relationship with you during this incredibly confusing and difficult point in your life, and we hope that we get the opportunity to visit with you.

As for us, we are just a couple who is following what God put on our hearts years ago. He spoke to us individually about adoption before we even met each other in 2010, and not long ago we felt God telling us now is the right time to finally follow through with what He had placed on our hearts so long ago. The Lord has been preparing our hearts for a baby for quite some time now, and we continue to be amazed as we see the Lord’s hand in each step of this process to becoming a family. We can’t wait to be parents and we are so thankful you are considering us to take on that role for your baby.

The main thing you need to know about us is that we love to laugh and it is important to us that we spend quality time together often. Rest assured, a baby in our home would be well snuggled and giggling often. We love to be involved in the social events and festivals our town hosts, but mostly we like hanging out at home. We live in a quiet neighborhood in a small town with a fenced in backyard. We love to take our two dogs for walks around the block, hang out in the yard with them, or take them to the local parks.

Adam has a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Living, which has given him a passion for experiencing and participating in children’s growth and maturity. He has a huge soft spot for kids, and would make a fun and spontaneous dad. He adores his 14 nieces and nephews and can’t wait to be called “Daddy” by his own little blessing. Adam is compassionate, forgiving, energetic, and kind-hearted; and I can’t wait to watch him grow into the parent that I know he is ready to be. Side note: Adam is the king of "dad jokes" and is ready to be a real dad so he can have an excuse to use them!

Kelsey’s heart is so ready to be a momma. Not only is she nurturing, sweet, kind, and gentle, but she is also task-oriented and makes sure things get done. She is a devoted researcher and has done all the preparation to ensure this baby will have the best-of-the-best. She has been anticipating being a mom her whole life and is more than ready to take on that role for your baby. If given the opportunity, she will love your child fiercely. She is already an incredible wife and I can’t wait to watch her be the amazing mother I know she will be.

As we try to get the last of our thoughts on paper (which is such a challenge), we just want to communicate this one, but most important point: God is SO good and He has a perfect plan for your life, your baby’s life, and our lives simultaneously. Please find comfort in knowing that we want what you want: a safe and healthy environment for your child to grow up and come to know the Lord.
